In July, the University of Minho hosted, in Braga, the EUSA’s European University Volleyball Championship. It was more than just a competition; it was a celebration that brought together European nations in pursuit of victory. With pride, I highlight my role in the visual identity of this exciting event.
At the heart of this experience is the special logo of the event, a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The laurel wreath, rooted in Braga’s Roman history, recalls the ancient practice of rewarding notable achievements. In this transformation, the wreath morphs into a volleyball net, taking on the shape of the letter U, symbolizing universities. This combination not only emphasizes the athlete in the throw but also symbolizes the unity of Europe and collective triumph. These elements connect today’s vibrant event to Braga’s rich history, where the laurel wreath was a symbol of triumph in ancient Rome.
Upon concluding the event, the celebration was marked by joy and accomplishment. The University of Minho, as the host, not only witnessed the intensity of the competitions but also celebrated values that transcended the boundaries of the field.

No centro desta experiência está o logo especial do evento, uma mistura única de tradição e modernidade. A coroa de louros, que tem raízes na história romana de Braga, recorda a prática antiga de premiar feitos notáveis. Nessa transformação, a coroa converte-se numa rede de voleibol e assume a forma da letra U, simbolizando as universidades. Esta combinação não só destaca o atleta no arremesso, mas também simboliza a união da Europa e a vitória coletiva. Estes elementos conectam o evento vibrante de hoje à história rica de Braga, onde a coroa de louros era um símbolo de triunfo na Roma Antiga.
Ao concluir o evento, a celebração foi marcada por alegria e conquista. A Universidade do Minho, como anfitriã, não apenas testemunhou a intensidade das competições, mas também festejou valores que transcenderam as linhas do campo.
